How can we help?

Answers to common questions. If you can’t find what you need, we’re one email away.

How do I play?

You start each round with an actor and a target film. Tap a movie from the actor’s credits, then pick a co-star or the director from that film, and keep alternating until you reach the target — in as few moves as you can. See How to play for a walkthrough. The app also includes a short interactive tutorial.

Movies aren’t loading

KinoTrain needs an internet connection to fetch movie data from The Movie Database (TMDB). If a game won’t start or posters are missing, check your connection and try again. If TMDB is temporarily unavailable, waiting a moment and retrying usually resolves it.

Do I need an account?

No. KinoTrain works with no sign-up and no login. Your difficulty preference, streak, and stats are stored locally on your device.

Did I lose my streak or stats?

Streaks and stats are saved on your device, not in the cloud. Deleting and reinstalling the app, or resetting the device, clears that local data. A daily streak also resets if you miss a day’s challenge.

How do hints work?

Stuck on a puzzle? A hint reveals the target film’s director and top cast to help you find your next hop. Hint-free wins are tracked separately in your stats.

Is KinoTrain free?

Yes — a new Daily Challenge every day plus unlimited free play across three difficulty levels, with no ads.

Is there an Android version?

KinoTrain launches first on iPhone and iPad. An Android version is planned for a future release.
